Ending 2013 with a blast!

Merry Christmas!! Guess I'm still in the Christmas mood.

Here's the main story. 2013. As we all know, 2013 is leaving us. Are we ready for 2014? Am I ready for 2014?

Great memories were created in 2013 and I will always cherish all of it. Resolution for 2014? I only have 2 resolutions. New job and persuing my Master. Can I do it? Wait and see.

2013 is (was) an awesome year indeed. Sad memories, awkward moments, new friendship, great times, and etc. The year is leaving us behind but it also leave a mark in the form of memories. These memories are the things that remind us of what happen. The people we meet, we hurt, we kiss and etc. Also, the things that we do, things that never happen and etc.

For the sad and worst memories, those are the lesson. Whereby the memories that are fun and happy, those are reminders.

Either the memories are bad or good. Keep them. You never know that it might be a good life lesson and/or stories.

So, I wish all of you a Happy New Year and may God bless you!! Cheers!!

Viva oh viva

So, last week send my Perodu Viva for spray painting. Choose the spruce green, which is a dark shade of green, as the theme. Well, yhe main reason I'm too lazy to go for this JPJ prosedure where you have to fill in some form just to change the colour of your car. Plus the registration card is still with the bank and I have to get them to release the registration card for the prosedure.

Ok, back to the story, after 1 week of body work. They finally paint my car. It turn out to be a shade of grey-ish colour. Not the colour I'm expecting but it look nice on the car. Well, atleast I'm loving it.

Now, all they need to do is spray paint the engine compartment, front bumper and spoiler. Then I'm bringing the car home.

I'm quite impressed with the workmanship of the workshop. He did my car in the timeline where he'd promise me. If you happen to be a Mirian or living nearby, I would recommend you to this workshop, Mr. Ho Spray. The shop is located along the main road of Krokop 1-2 and is next to a pc shop called PC Wizard.

Exhausted

So, just got back from Limbang or what I like to call it 'outstation'. Not that fancy huh..oh well..

So, the weather's been very kind to us lately. It keeps on raining at night. Which is a good thing cause it helps you to sleep well. Right?

Well, it might be good to some people but its a bad sign for me. Due to the numbers of bad experiences I've encountered even since becoming an adjuster. One of which is landslides.
First encounter was in Lapok, Miri Division. That was due to never ending road construction of Bakong-Ulu Teru. I think it was published in the newspapers sometimes in 2012.

The second encounter is today in Limbang. Well, not exactly Limbang but it happen along the way heading to a timber camp site. Lucky for us, it happen before we reached that particular area. So, no one was harm. But it took them a while just to clear the road.

It goes to show how God's power can do. I took it as a reminder that God is always watching our every single move. Its never too late to do good.

Peace out.

First date. To pay or not to pay?

So, should guys pay on their first date or should girls pay?

Well, the common senario is guys would always pay on their first date but not all guys would do the same.

Some guys would expect that the bill should be split in half and some would like the girls to pay. I know guys out there have different opinion on this so please do share it in my comment below.

Guys like it when a girl call them a gentlemen. Espacially those girls that he likes. So, if he manage to bring this girl out on a date, it is always a good idea to pay. Not saying that you must pay. Just its a good idea to do so. See the different buddy? If not, read it again.

What happen to being equal? Well, split the bills sounds like a better idea. Yes, it does and its not wrong to do so on your first date. We are leaving in the world of working women. So, if they insist of spliting the bills then why not. This does not mean that your are being cheap.

What about letting the girls pay? Now, my personal opinion would say that its not wrong to let her pay. But are you sure you want to do that? Well, here's what you should do. If she insist of paying, let her. But make sure you pay on the next date. Sound fair isn't it?

Update

Its been a sober weekend for me this week. Didn't even went out cause of the weather. In case you didn't know, the weather here is glommy. Guess its the season now.

So, since I didn't go anywhere this weekend. I actually enjoy staying at home. One of yhe reason is the privacy I get  cause my brother spend his weekend with his girlfriend and friends. And no, I did not spend the whole weekend in my room. I actually did something that I haven't done in so many years. Which is composing a song. To be honest. It didn't work out cause the I ran out of idea to write the lyrics. But it felt good to do something that you've haven't been doing.

That is one part of me that none of my friends know of. Well, since I did not manage to finish up the song I decided to do a cover song instead. I would love to share the video or recordings with you guys but unfortunately I did not do any recording. Sorry.

Which song you might ask? Letters to you by Finch, Buried Myself Alive by The Used and Outside by Stand. Trust me. Those songs are not easy to sing.

After the unsuccessful attempts in making those cover songs, I decided to go on youtube and search for other cover songs. That is how I normally get my so called inspirstion from. Found whole bunch of cover songs and did couple of attempt but fail. But it does not bumps me out knowing that I couldn't do those things. I was enjoying it actually. There's a saying that goes like this "no matter how many failure you faced, as long as you enjoy doing what you do, those failure will eventually turn out to be a success".

No guys, I'm not going to persue my long desire dream of becoming an artist but I enjoy listening and making music. Guess it true what they say, music can cure the heartache.

Moral of the story is, enjoy doing the things that you love the most as it could calm you down and brings you happiness.

Cheers!!

Asia Music Festival 2013 Day 2

Day 2 of Asia Music Festival start out strong with the opening act from The Mountain Wind Band, a local band from Bario. I should say that the local acts that performed on Day 2 were awesome!

Well, here are the photos from day 2.

Now this is a surprising view. The younger generations are loving the performance.

The "Poco-Poco"

Up next is another local Sarawak born singer, Melissa Francis.

View of the sunset right after Melissa's performance.

The Starlets Band return on Day 2 of Asia Music Festival and this time, they did something different from their Day 1 performances.

They even did a "Dangdut" act

Right after The Starlets Band, Mr. Fakhrul Razi take the stage and he was not alone. On this performance, he was backed up by a local band called Camouflage.

After the Brunei's singer done with his performance, Boy Thai Band takes the stage.

From the crowd's point of view

Now, here's where the party really start to heat up. Up next, is Antony Dassan Yen Party all the way from India.

The crowd really enjoy that act from Antony Dassan. Next is a all girl band called Foxy Girls from Indonesia. Another act that the crowd loved.

Now, here are some of the "participant" that join them on stage and dance like nobody's business.

I call them "The Trio".

And are some feedback on the event.

1. Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) should held this event once again next year but this time, try focus more on the publicity.

2. The use of coupon to buy food. In term of "Go Green", the coupon is not helping. Whats wrong with buying food and drinks using direct cash?

3. The venue this year was fine but there are hazards. As I was taking photos in front of the stage, I can really feel that the platform is shaking or wobbling. Now, luckily on that day, no unwanted event happened. But if there is another event such as this, the stage and the dance floor should be on solid ground, just to ensure the safety of the crowd and/or visitors.

4. Selection on the performance. Now, I was shock to find out that most of the local act performed early. I do not know why or how does they choose on the performer's turn but if you really talking about supporting your local musician, try to put them "in-line" with the other international act not as the "opening act".

5. Another issue was brought up during the event was the photographer pit pass. As we found out that the barricade was a wooden barricade with pots of greens in between. Which was easy for the crowd to move and enter the pit (easy access). And surprisingly there was no RELA or policemen guarding in front of the stage. Try and improve on that.

So basically, that's it. Thanks again to STB for organizing such event here in Miri and we hope there are more similar event in the coming future. Cheers!
